National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare, 2022
This technical assistance brief helps collaborative teams formally assess existing policies to determine if and how they contribute to disproportionate and disparate outcomes for families. By working through the “Questions to Consider,” teams begin applying an equity lens to collaborative policies and practices. This brief also serves as a companion to the Comprehensive Framework to Improve Outcomes for Families Affected by Substance Use Disorders and Child Welfare Involvement. The Center for Children and Family Futures (CCFF) developed the framework as a set of proven strategies to improve outcomes with equity for all children, parents, and families affected by trauma, substance use, and other mental disorders.
